The National Standards Committee issued 259 national standards, three of which are related to LED lights

On September 16, the National Standards Committee approved the release of 259 national standards, of which three national standards on the classification of LED lights are as follows:

Two newly formulated national standards for the specification and classification of self-ballasted LED lamps are released:

The newly formulated GB/T 31111-2014 "Reflective Self-ballasted LED Lamp Specification Classification" was released a few days ago, implementation date: 2015-08-01.

The newly formulated GB/T 31112-2014 "Specifications and Classification of Non-directional Self-ballasted LED Lamps for General Lighting" was released a few days ago. Implementation date: 2015-08-01.

The newly revised non-directional self-ballasted LED lamp performance requirements national standards are released:

GB/T 24908-2014 "Performance Requirements for Non-directional Self-ballasted LED Lamps for General Lighting" was released recently, implementation date: 2015-08-01, which will replace GB/T24908-2010.

For a long time, LED lighting has been criticized due to inconsistent technology and imperfect national standards. The three specifications of LED lights issued by the National Standards Committee will help promote the industry to move closer to standardization.

Local standards are overheated and complained

In the past year or two, many places have issued LED-related standards. Among them, the industry's center of gravity is Guangdong Province, and of course, Jiangsu Province, Fujian Province and other provinces and cities have successively announced some standards. It is undeniable that the promulgation of standards is conducive to the orderly development of the standardization industry, and has a certain positive and guiding role in promoting the standardization of the national LED industry.

This intention of the government believed that it was “excellent”, but at the specific implementation stage, symptoms of “discomfort” appeared. The standard disorder seriously affected consumers' accurate judgment of the quality of a product, and consumers were choosing LEDs. Very hesitant and difficult when lighting lamps. Therefore, many people in the industry have also complained about it.

"The government attaches great importance to the standard-setting work of the LED lighting industry, but paying attention does not mean that it is good at and in place. The standard-setting of LED lighting has its own special rules, which are difficult to grasp." said Hua Shumingxiang, director of Beijing Electric Light Source Research Institute. "But the local government's attitude towards LED lighting is too enthusiastic, and this enthusiasm has led to a complicated situation in which multiple local governments are setting standards. Multi-heads set up standard agencies and multi-heads to set standards. How can it not be chaotic?" Hua Shuming said.

Dou Linping, secretary-general of the China Illuminating Society, also analyzed that the reason for the confusion of standards is that China’s LED standards are too eager to formulate specific product standards while ignoring the basic standard system research.

LED standards should be nationalized and internationalized

In this regard, Chen Yansheng believes that local standards are overheated and hurt the people and wealth, and he spread the problem of nationalization and internationalization: "At present, many local standards have been established in various places, but China's current lighting industry is not only oriented to the local and provincial markets. The global market. Therefore, not only must a unified national standard be established, but also the national standard must be coordinated with the REC standard. I think it is a waste of money to implement local standards, and I personally disagree with local standards."

The total export value in 2013 was 36 billion U.S. dollars, of which LED exports were 6 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 1/6 of the total export value, an increase of 70% year-on-year. It is not difficult to find that there are many cakes in the LED export market. Chen Yansheng believes that the unification of national standards with international standards will be more conducive to Chinese companies exporting products abroad, increasing trade volume and competitiveness.

Chen Yansheng bluntly said that the entire LED industry is currently facing the problem of low product quality and chaos. As the standards of LED lighting products continue to improve, companies should produce products in accordance with the standards. Moreover, the future industrial development must be a big wave and the survival of the fittest.

   edit summary

The local standard is a double-edged sword. It can not only urge enterprises to standardize production, but if there is some "discomfort", it will hurt the people and money and cause the industry standards to become more chaotic.

There are many reasons why the national LED standard is difficult to come out. The industry has not been officially started for a long time, and the technology and other aspects are changing with each passing day. It is difficult to form a unified standard. However, with the progress and maturity of LED technology, the national standard is promulgated. Just around the corner, many people in the industry said that they believe that LED will be able to achieve standardized production in the next one or two years.
